Job Summary
The Veterans & Military Services Coordinator serves as the liaison for Veterans on campus - answer university related questions, direct Veterans to the appropriate department for assistance, provide one area of resource for questions not related to educational benefits.
Job Description
The Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of the Veterans Resource Center:

  1. Create annual plan for the center that includes documented effectiveness of the center for the year, ideas for recruiting and retaining Veteran students, programming to encourage Veteran engagement with the university and changes to the day-to-day operations of the center.
  2. Responsible for veteran and military personnel student recruitment.
  3. Supervise and assign tasks to Veteran Work Study students.
  4. Manage the Veterans Resource Center budget.
  5. Work in collaboration with the Veterans Benefits Coordinator to foster a positive Veteran student experience.
  6. Act in compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Defense (DoD).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with veterans and military personnel and or five years of military employment
  • Strong interest in working with the veteran and military student population
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of college or university and military policies
  • Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with veterans and military personnel, peers, Administrators, faculty, and staff members.
