The position is located in the GE Vernova facility - 4955 Mason Rd., Atlanta, GA 30349
The Plant Manager is responsible for the supervision and support of production personnel of a 2 shift M-F operation with approximately 18 employees. They will assist with site operations with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deems necessary from time to time. 1. Direct and support Area Leads in designated areas in the achievement of production goals. 2. Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues that would slow production, focusing efforts to keep Area Leads in their areas driving SQDC. 3. Supervisory responsibility for designated production employees, including interviewing, training, evaluating employees, and administering/documenting disciplinary actions as necessary. 4. Hands-on involvement in quality: root cause analysis, solution brainstorming, and resolution implementation. 5. Responsible for creating the Production and Shipping schedules, ensuring all jobs are completed and shipped on time. 6. Collaborate with the customer service team, ensuring that customer requests are met, and communicate effectively when adjustments will need to be made. 7. Make recommendations and implement production and process improvement. 8. Collaborate with Safety leadership on promptly reporting issues or concerns and enforcing published policies. 9. Participate in production leadership meetings and collaborate on best employee placement to achieve daily goals. 10. Collaborate to manage employee schedules, including overtime and PTO requests, ensuring that overall production needs are supported. 11. Share performance feedback and employee issues that could limit the attainment of goals to the Leadership team. Education and/or Experience A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior leadership experience is required. Associates degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively. Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required. Professional communication is required. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and use basic math skills. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics. Knowledge of basic Microsoft Suite required. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
