TSC is seeking an Engineer IV This position will be onsite aboard the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren located in King George VA.

The Engineer will assist the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Aegis Sea-Based Weapon System (SBWS) program office (MDA/AB) implement an acquisition strategy to design, build, integrate, test, and field increasing capabilities for missile defense in an incremental capability delivery program. Facilitate execution of all engineering and management phases to support MDA/AB in accordance with the MDA/AB System Engineering Plan (SEP).

Functional Description:

  • Executes extensive engineering / scientific support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and / or processes for complex developmental and operational weapon system programs.
  • Implements system engineering "V" processes across a program's acquisition life cycle.
  • Applies oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be capable of providing support in the following areas:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in systems engineering process related to requirements allocation, derivation, and verification methods.
  • Works closely with the lead systems engineer and chief engineer to ensure technical (performance and functional) requirements are allocated between missile and weapon system for sea based terminal mission area for sea-based weapon systems.
  • Coordinates between MDA Engineering Directorate and Sea Based Weapons Systems to capture data requests and analysis activities to support Operational Capability List inclusion of the sea based terminal program in the Missile Defense System Phased Implementation Plan.
  • Works with the ground test team to represent the sea-based terminal (SBT) team for ground test activities.
  • Assesses results and captures needed data analysis from real world Operational employment of the SBT capability, coordinating information between the SBT AWS and missile teams to provide responses and identify needed updates to missile or AWS software to address shortfalls observed from real world events assessments.
  • SBT curriculum review representative as part of the Training Readiness Review Process (TRR) for Aegis Classroom and Shipboard Training through the Aegis Training Readiness Center (ATRC).
  • Responsible for the tracking of SM-6 Missile ordnance expenditures, movements, and shipboard via the NSWC Corona Dashboard and Missile Assessment and Readiness Suite (MARS).

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) field
  • 12+ years of experience working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program project.
  • Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams / tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering and scientific problems.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Minimum of a Secret clearance.
  • Proficient with the standard Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with MDA a plus.
  • Experience working with the Aegis combat system a plus.
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Previous Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
