Sr. Project Manager (Hybrid)

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Project Manager with experience in cost, schedule, risk and stakeholder management, developing and building hard-working, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our Project Managers have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Our Project Managers are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we're doing wrong, so we can fix it, and what we're doing right, so we can improve on it. Location: Chicago, IL, USA (Hybrid, 3 days at office).

Responsibilities:

Release Planning:

  • Assist the Release Manager to develop comprehensive release strategy
  • Assist with coordination across work streams, vendors, moratoriums and other priorities for input and assistance in the creation of the Release Calendar/Plan.

Release Assessment:

  • Track lower-level deployment, facilitate release notes for all deployments.
  • Assist with defect triage in lower-level environments.
  • Facilitate resolution of release issues to keep the program on track.
  • Coordinate LLE deployments and data set up needs as necessary.

Implementation Planning & Support:

  • Creation of integrated cutover plans, CHGs and technical runbooks.
  • Gather data for operational and business verification activities.
  • Support creation of the Release runbook.
  • Coordination with other LOBs for the implementation.
  • Assist with identification and plan for cross-program dependencies during the release weekend.
  • Ensure all posts go live support and processes are agreed and in place.
  • Provide Release support coverage over the weekend (24X7).
  • Facilitate dry runs.
  • Assist Technology with facilitation and coordination with infrastructure and other teams.
  • Facilitate issue resolution over the release weekend.
  • Provide a platform for rollback decisions, if necessary (escalation process for major releases).
  • Assist in command center and release triage as necessary.

Post Implementation Support:

  • Facilitate post-implementation checkpoint meetings to review the status and implementation issues.
  • Track incidents in issue tracker through closure or transition to future release (JIRA/ALM opened).
  • Communicate status to teams and leadership until release closure.
  • Maintains all release management artifacts in central SharePoint repository and manages all key release management artifacts.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in computer science information technology or a related field.
  • 14+ years of experience.
  • Should have strong project management work experience.
  • Should be strong in all the project management processes under the Scope management, Cost management, Schedule management, Risk management and Stakeholder management.
  • Should be good at communication and interpersonal skills and willing to operate in flexible timings.
  • Should have experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $102,600K - $162,500K depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
