Psychiatric Emergency Service

SUMMARY:

Provides the following services within the 24/7 Psychiatric Emergency Service (as defined by state of Georgia service guidelines) for individuals with Mental Illness and Addictive Disease: Crisis Intervention; Crisis and Behavioral Assessment; Suicide Risk Assessment; community linkage/discharge planning. The primary objective of this position is to assess individuals presenting to the ER in a psychiatric crisis, resulting in a diagnosis, confer with the Psychiatrist and rapidly formulate a disposition to alternative services (and facilitate transfer) as necessary. Will work at the top of their licensure limit to determine risk, diagnosis and disposition of each patient entering the Psychiatric Emergency Service. Responsible for Consulting on Medical cases in the other Zones of ED. Responsible for assessing for and completing Form 1013.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Master's Degree in Counseling or Behavioral Sciences is required.

  • Three of more years related experience, preferably in Crisis assessment.



  • Must have full licensure in LPC or LCSW in the state of Georgia
