Milling Technician Hourly Pay Rate: $24.23 Shift: 7am-7pm - Rotating shift (36 hours one week, 48 hours the next). Your role: As a Milling Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient production of flour within the facility. You will support the efficient and effective setting of mill equipment to optimize processing efficiencies and adherence to customer specifications. Your responsibilities: Maximize milling efficiencies in the plant daily by focusing on adjustment and operation of cleaning house and mill equipment. Monitor the entire milling process and perform basic equipment maintenance/troubleshooting tasks for all equipment related to the operation of the mill Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned including working on plant teams, providing input on capital projects, and center lining Maintain sanitation standards, in accordance to policies, to provide for a safe and food safe work environment Maintain all tools/equipment and execute processes in the 5S, Pristine AMPS standards using process tools such as Centerline, 5S, understanding loss through 5why to create continuous improvement process by determining Root Cause and Corrective Actions. Use computers to operate mill equipment, document production reports, shift reports, including mill and maintenance issues Interact with scheduler, elevator, blender, quality team, maintenance, and packer to communicate workflow, milling schedule, and equipment issues. Essential skills and experiences: High School diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent) Basic skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn and use new computer programs Good to have: Demonstrated mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting ability Understanding of safety behaviors within production environment Mill Production experience Associates Degree, Technical or Trade certifications, IAOM Milling Coursework, or any Training and Education specific to Milling or Grain Sciences Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator) Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include: Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather) Indoor/Outdoor environment Dusty environment(to include Wheat/Gluten allergens) Noisy environment Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes Elevated Places Ability to perform work safely which may require: Frequently standing, walking, rotating,bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing and reachingor lifting at varying heights and levels Frequentlyclimbing stairs and/or ladders Occasionally lifting, shovelingand/or carrying Occasionally pushing and/or pulling Working in confined or elevated places May be required to pass a physical abilities test with or without reasonable accommodation with the ability to: Frequently stand, walk, rotate,bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reachor lift at shoulder level,above shoulder level,and below shoulder level Frequentlyclimb stairs and/or ladders Occasionally lift/shovel/carry up to55 pounds Occasionally push up to 200 pounds of force Occasionally pull/torque up to 210 pounds of force Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
