Senior Software Engineering Consultants (2x) - AWS / Python / Java (Backend API / Microservices)

Join our core application team as we modernize both Java and Python applications for a critical nationwide application. You'll be joining on a long term project which is well funded on a collaborative team, we're seeking strong software consultants with strong communication skills able to make an immediate difference, we are hiring for both mid level (2-4 year professionals) and senior (5+ year professionals).

The role will require strong skills with AWS Lambdas, Java/Spring, and abilities coding new development with Python Coding, this team - must be local, willing and able to work directly for Eliassen Group on a W2 basis, and work on site / hybrid in Charlotte

Rate: $65 - $70 / hr. w2

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic backend developer to join a fast-paced team. You will primarily be working on AWS, Python, Core Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST Web Service API, and Microservices, leveraging the newest and cutting-edge technologies available on the market. Responsibilities:

• Join a fast-paced team on various analytics projects focusing on the development and maintenance of REST APIs.
• Design and develop new microservices in AWS which are highly scalable.
• Ensure that builds are running, and the web application is running smoothly.
• Participate in all agile SCRUM meetings.
• Write documentation for the APIs.
• Help other developers through feedback and code reviews.

Ideally 5+ years of experience (for senior role - flexible for mid level role and there are TWO POSITIONS - BOTH HIRING ASAP)

* This Role is supporting the modernization of core applications, core focus is backend software engineering - Python and Java Spring Boot APIs, AWS Lambda Functions (Applications are cloud Native)

* Other nice to have Tech: Terraform, Route 53, any balanced Front end (full stack experience)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's (or Master's degree) in either computer science or related engineering/science field.
• 5+ years of hands-on professional software development experience.
• Core skills with significant Python and Java backend development experience, including work with Spring Boot / SQL / NoSQL - MUST have strong skills both coding, debugging, and working on analytical skills to troubleshoot/modernize an existing flagship application and bring it into modern technology stacks
• Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight or hand-holding in a shift-left mentality environment (agile scrum methodology) and be able to work with both stakeholders, developers, functional members, testers, deployment teams, and business leaders in regards to application duties across our agile teams.
• Good interpersonal communication skills for tech and business conversations, strong analytical skills to break down business requirements into functional/technical specifications that solve complex problems.
• MUST be able to work hybrid 2-3 days per week as needed/requested

Desired Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on professional software development experience.
• Strong abilities deploy software in AWS using Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, Fargate.
• Background in delivering full-life cycle projects including DevOps/ CICD pipeline and deployment practices
• Understands container concepts, working with container orchestration, managing containerized applications to ensure scalability and reliability.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field.
