Description

Overall Responsibility:We are looking for a Plumbing Designer to join our team to work out of the Chadds Ford, PA or Philadelphia, PA office. With guidance from the Plumbing Discipline Lead, this role will be responsible for assuring high quality on work projects on all aspects of plumbing design, using and appropriate software programs and drawing standards.

Essential Functions:



  • Reviews drawings, technical specifications supplied by vendors, clients, and internal professionals, recommending necessary changes.
  • Contributes to estimation of projects, planning and construction feasibility.
  • Performs plumbing design calculations, including but not limited to domestic water, storm, compressed air, natural gas, technical comparisons and similar technical work.
  • Responsible for ensuring correct code references are used for each project, including but not limited to researching codes and resolving issues on projects pertaining to codes.
  • Acts as liaison between city, state, and county officials, Company, and client to ensure coordination with all aspects of design.
  • Develops design drawings.
  • Provides advisory information during the construction phase.
  • Performs site surveys and contributes to engineering studies on as-needed basis.
  • Ability to write survey assessment reports and accurately document existing building conditions.
  • Attends and contributes to client and departmental meetings.
  • Manages projects in all facets of design and construction with a focus on exceptional quality, while ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are met.
  • Assists in preparing proposals on project proposals.



Secondary Functions:



  • Supports applicable requests as needed.
  • Lends support to all business areas as needed.
  • Duties as assigned by the Discipline Lead, Project Managers, and local Operations Director.

Qualifications

Needed Skills:



  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in BlueBeam, AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.
  • Understanding of underlying principals of A/E industry, including but not limited to design/build.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project deadlines.
  • Detail and safety-oriented.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.



Education/Experience Minimum:



  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical school training and experience.
  • Expected experience is 3 - 7 years in plumbing design.
  • EIT or CPD preferred.
  • Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Valid state driver's license (any in US).
  • In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
  • Ability to meet worksite security requirements.
