Position Highlights

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona is growing and actively interviewing for an Outpatient Pediatric Psychologist to join our clinical faculty in providing exceptional patient care. Join our full-time clinical faculty while partnering with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team.

The qualified candidate will join our collegial and highly trained faculty in the delivery of evidence-based care in a collaborative academic medical center. The candidate may have opportunities for teaching and supervision in our American Psychological Association-accredited doctoral clinical psychology internship program and with our graduate medical residents and fellows. Our psychology faculty are co-located with our psychiatry faculty, and collaboration across specialties is valued. Our department prioritizes working with primary care, other medical and surgical specialties, delivery of evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions, and ongoing professional development.

This position may be eligible for the following flexible work arrangements in conversation with the supervisor: In-office or remote from within Arizona.

This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Offer didactic/ educational sessions to providers in AZ on topics on child mental health.
  • Offer phone consultations and guidance to providers calling the Arizona Pediatric Psychiatry Access Line.
  • Offer one-time assessments and consultations to children, adolescents, and their parents as identified through the Arizona Pediatric Psychiatry Access Line.
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and brief interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to include psychiatrists, pediatricians, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Offer consultations and guidance to primary care providers on managing pediatric mental health concerns.

  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to deliver evidenced-based psychotherapy.
  • Ability to function in a collaborative care model.
  • Commitment to teaching and supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted Psychologist Arizona license, or application for Arizona licensure submitted at time of application.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical experience in child mental health.
  • Completion of an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship.
