***This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered. ***

Provide laboratory support with laboratory experiments in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories and thus must hold and maintain BPRP status, IAW the provisions in this contract and applicable regulations. Aid in the execution of scientific studies and plaque assays, PCR and other assays, animal procedures, collection/data analyzing, and maintain laboratory and laboratory equipment.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Laboratory Technician IV GLP Assay & Bacteriology: $60K

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Laboratory Technician IV GLP Assay & Bacteriology Responsibilities Include:



  • Prepare for and participate in BSL2 and BSL3 lab inspections.
  • Participate in Non-human Primate studies.
  • Participate in rodent studies.
  • Perform basic lab skills.
  • Perform inhibition concentration antibiotic testing.
  • Perform complement fixation assays.
  • Complete equipment inventory.
  • Assess and maintain laboratory supplies using GFEBS.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Laboratory Technician IV GLP Assay & Bacteriology Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Master's degree or the equivalent in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biology, or a related field and 4 years' experience in a bacteriology laboratory.
  • Skilled in BSL3 or BSL 4 environments.
  • Proven ability to work with animal inoculations, tissue collection and conduct bleeding.
  • Working knowledge of basic cell culture, plaque assays, plaque reduction neutralization test, PCR, ELISA, Western Blot and clinical laboratory tests on animal samples.
  • Attention to details; accurate record keeping; willingness to work in BSL-2 and BSL-3 high containment laboratories.
  • Ability to plan, troubleshoot, and execute laboratory studies and equipment in a highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, team-oriented environment involving multiple projects.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a security clearance and enrollment in the Biosurety Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP).
  • Ability to pass a US Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Ability to prove US citizenship.
  • Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Laboratory Technician IV, Bacteriology Technician, Research Assistant.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
