The OR Inventory Coordinator is responsible for overseeing supplies and equipment needed in Surgical Services. Duties include ensuring par levels are maintained and documentation is complete.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily deliveries to Surgical Services. Open & check in all daily supply deliveries. Review all daily delivery tickets and maintain them in the log book. Oversee Surgical Services recalls. Maintain all OR Recall logs, completing all appropriate paperwork, arrange returns and replacement products.
  • Ensure departmental documentation is updated and complete. Maintain asset logs for OR/SDS/Ambulatory Care/PACU. Maintain MSDS logs for OR/SDS/Ambulatory Care/PACU.
  • Oversee endomechanical ordering . Monitor daily endomechanical orders and maintain a log book for the same.
  • Complete Item Add and New Vendor forms when applicable.
  • Establishes, implements and maintains an inventory control system for supplies in the assigned area in coordination with assistant nurse manager and physicians. Inventory control system is functioning accurately and all staff is trained to utilize the system
  • Assist with monitoring expenses, development of control mechanisms and supply data usage reports. Review weekly RAS Cost Center PO Expense Posting Reports, maintain Quarterly Joint Initiative reports, monthly Graft Matrix reports. Prepare cost savings.
  • Oversee Ophthalmology inventory. Order consignment lenses, maintain daily lens log and issue bill only purchase orders for implanted lenses.
  • Maintain inventory of OR and Endovascular. Review and maintain all inventory par levels/on hand quantities/ purchase methods and daily orders for OR ORSOS Master Perpetual Inventory.
  • Oversight of purchasing to ensure availability. Review purchase requisition for par level accuracy prior to releasing to O.R. Buyer. Create, maintain and edit OR and Endovascular Lab order templates.
  • Ensures all bulk sterile supplies and stock levels are maintained for Operating Room and Endovascular Lab. Requisition orders and stock all bulk Sterile/Anesthesia/Cardiovascular/Solution/Needle & Syringe/Mesh Products for O.R and Endovascular Lab.
  • Coordinate approved product trial conversions, arrange for credits and product return pickups.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Four or more years of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to push, pull, walk or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate electric jack and/or fork lift.
