The Position
Genentech's Department of Cell and Tissue Genomics - Oncology is seeking a motivated Scientist 3 to generate and analyze data from multimodal single-cell datasets and high-content screens to discover/prioritize targets in breast cancer. The successful candidate will leverage large-scale single-cell genomics data to study tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment in disease and therapy response, generate hypotheses about breast tumor biology/mechanisms of resistance, and test these experimentally in close collaboration with other members of the department. Strong expertise with generation and analysis of multimodal single-cell data from patient samples is required. Expertise in breast cancer biology, single-cell technology development, and/or spatial transcriptomics is a plus. This is a mixed computational/ wet-lab position involving collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including oncology, translational medicine, pathology/spatial-omics, NGS, epigenetics, bioinformatics, and AI/ML. Relocation benefits are available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $100,200 to 186,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
