Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior AI/ML Research Engineer to join our cutting-edge research institute. In this role, you will direct and oversee the design, integration, and testing of Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions, working closely with students and staff to drive innovation and deliver impactful results. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in AI/ML, strong leadership skills, and a passion for solving novel and complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the fine-tuning of machine learning models and exploration of modern AI techniques to address novel and unique challenges.
  • Develop testing methods to evaluate the efficacy and performance of AI/ML models, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Design communication protocols between models and sensors, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
  • Analyze and address SWAP (size, weight, and power) requirements to optimize models and systems for deployment.
  • Assist in power systems design, support system requirements, and data parsing implementation to ensure robust AI/ML solutions.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and visualization of AI/ML systems to validate real-world applicability.
  • Write technical reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders, summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit technical proposals to secure funding for future projects and initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by mentoring students and staff, managing time effectively, and multitasking across projects.
Minimum Qualifications

* A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated salary range is $67,746 through $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position
