Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead occupational safety, process engineering, and facility maintenance functions to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing operations throughout the Company. Will work in partnership with cross-functional teams to continuously improve Operational, Safety, and Environmental metrics.

What You'll Do



  • Optimize manufacturing operations to achieve Federal's safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
  • Provide leadership, direction and training for the company's safety program and culture
  • Provide oversight and guidance of plant maintenance, including facility maintenance and renovations, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and capacity expansion
  • Develop and implement capital expenditure projects for equipment and facility updates
  • Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Provide coaching on the implementation of lean manufacturing tools such as 6s, standard work, TPM, process flow, Kanban systems, visual management, value stream mapping, and material flow
  • Analyze and implement improvements to specific manufacturing operations such as welding, fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes
  • Organize, lead, and implement kaizen events that impact Federal's bottom-line
  • Oversee the training and implementation of root cause countermeasure (RCCM) process for supervisors and management team
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and timely performance reviews, holding direct reports accountable to agreed-upon goals


What You'll Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (extensive experience in manufacturing engineering may be substituted for degree)
  • Minimum 3 years related manufacturing engineering experience
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams while successfully managing project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement training and demonstrated experience
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety programs and best practices
  • Excellent organizational and business acumen
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


What We Value



  • Certifications are a plus in Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, and/or OSHA
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills
  • Change agent skills
  • Solid Edge or SolidWorks experience preferred
  • Experience in Preventive Maintenance software and/or ERP systems is a plus
