Job Summary
The Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas seeks to fill a staff position for the Director of Web Infrastructure and Services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school's web infrastructure and services. The responsibilities as the Director of Web Infrastructure and Services include the design and development of complex software architecture for mobile and web applications, writing algorithms for core functionality of complex software projects, designing layouts, coordinating with UT Dallas Web Services to ensure that all the UT Dallas policies and requirements are met, managing a team of direct reports, monitoring performance, developing plans for professional development, and conducting annual reviews.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related progressive experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Five (5) years of designing, implementing, and supporting web-based solutions, managing technical staff, and managing multiple concurrent large-scale web services projects.
  • Ability to evaluate the UI/UX elements of the web pages and develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with custom web development with a skill set that includes working knowledge of CSS, HTML, Web Scripting, SEO, and styling techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with development platforms like WordPress and languages like PHP, Node.js, JavaScript, etc.
  • Demonstrate accessible and usable Web page design.
  • Hands-on experience with the architecture of web applications, with knowledge of database-enabled portals.
  • Good understanding of version control, hosting, web backup management, and site mapping.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of managing and creating multiple complex websites and Web applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment.

Core Responsiblities Include:

  • Establish, monitor, and maintain ongoing reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for web services operations and website performance.
  • Identify, plan, and lead current-web performance improvement projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
  • Plan and implement the future-state web services' structures, including site mapping, taxonomy, and wireframing.
  • Create, communicate, deliver and enforce a comprehensive web services governance plan.
  • Ensure continuous alignment of all relevant internal staff and external partners on strategic website goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align website projects with business objectives and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Mentor and lead the web operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employees must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
