Responsibilities

We are seeking a Radiology Manager internally referred to as our Radiology Operations Manager at St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, a member of Prime Healthcare. This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring it functions smoothly and efficiently while upholding the highest standards of patient care, safety, and diagnostic precision. As a key leader, the Radiology Manager will ensure the department delivers top-quality care and adheres to all regulatory and safety guidelines.

Hours: 8hr - Normally Monday thru Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    oversee radiologic technologists, ultrasound technicians, MRI technologists, CT Technologist (CT Tech), Nuclear Medicine Technologist and support staff, assist with recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • manage the daily staff schedules of all modalities to ensure timely service for patients while optimizing staff productivity
  • ensure that the necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies are available to meet the department's needs
  • monitor the department's budget, approve expenses, and work to optimize costs without compromising patient care
  • ensure that the department adheres to regulatory requirements and standards set by bodies such as the Joint Commission, OSHA, or the American College of Radiology (ACR)
  • implement and monitor safety protocols, especially regarding radiation exposure, infection control, and equipment handling
  • oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of radiology equipment (e.g., X-ray machines, MRI, CT scanners), you may also help in selecting and purchasing new equipment as needed
  • stay current with advancements in imaging technologies and may play a role in integrating new technologies and systems (like PACS, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems)
  • contribute to the long-term strategic planning of the radiology department, anticipating future service demands and technological needs
  • work closely with hospital administration to align departmental goals with the overall mission and objectives of the healthcare facility


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • associates degree, Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology or JRCNMT accredited program in Nuclear Medicine
  • bachelors degree preferred
  • specialized training in CT or MRI preferred
  • supervisory experience in all medical imaging functions
  • previous experience as a radiology technologist/Nuclear Medicine/Other modalities
  • strong verbal and written skills
  • ARRT-R or licensed by the NMTCB
  • current Basic Life Support /BCLS (AHA) certification
  • comprehensive Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory standards required
