Overview
Credence, a federal government contracting firm, is seeking IT professionals to join its growing Organization to support DoD. Credence is located in Tysons Corner, VA and provides world-wide support to federal agencies. The work will be performed in the Washington D.C. area, primarily at the Credence HQ in Vienna, VA. The scope of this effort involves planning, requirements analysis, developing, configuration, integration, testing, deployment and sustainment of a APIs, integrations and ServiceNow APIs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
Manage the development and maintenance of APIs ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Utilize scripting languages such as JavaScript and GlideScript.
- Integrate ServiceNow with other systems and applications effectively by leveraging ServiceNow APIs (REST, SOAP, and JSON) to ensure seamless data exchange and functionality.
- Develop and configure integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, leveraging MID Server and Integration Hub to ensure seamless data flow.
- Configure workflows using Flow Designer to automate business processes and streamline workflows within ServiceNow applications.
- Technical lead providing direction to a team of 3 - 5 developers in the development and implementation of API interfaces using an API Gateway.
- Develop software-based API interfaces using an API Gateway platform.
- Utilize web-based software such as Java, HTML, .NET, AngularJS, Javascript, SOAP, REST API, mobile development, and Web Based API in the building of software interfaces that operate using the API Gateway platform.
- Write "Script Includes" to handle backend logic for API endpoints.
- Diagnose and resolve API-related issues, including error handling and logging.
- Handle both inbound and outbound API requests in ServiceNow for integration with external systems via the API Gateway.
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
- US Citizenship with ability to obtain a secret clearance is required
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related discipline is required.
- Five (5) years total work experience
- Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs) in a ServiceNow platform in order to support Low-Code/No-Code Development.
- Experience with API platform such as MuleSoft is a plus.
- Experience developing application/process automation software based on BPMN models, experience using software tools such as Java, Javascript, Salesforce, etc. with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Basic knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
- Experience in agile and hybrid low-code application development using JIRA for user story task management.
- Good understanding of ServiceNow's architecture, data model, and core concepts.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design principles and the ability to create and consume REST APIs in ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of configuring ServiceNow to receive requests from the API Gateway, including the correct HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and response handling.
- Good understanding of ACLs for API security
