Summary

As a Laundry Supervisor, you play an important role in creating a memorable first impression for our guests from the moment they enter their tent. We are known for providing guests with a glamping experience that includes all the comforts and luxury of home. Your role is to ensure you and your team of Laundry Attendants provide our teams and guests with the cleanest possible materials that meet the highest standards for our guests to enjoy their stay. This is a seasonal, hourly position and includes the option of team member housing for the duration of employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the stamina to work long hours in varying weather conditions
  • Interact regularly with co-workers and guests in a genuine, professional manner
  • Communicate effectively and constantly while building staff skill sets, knowledge, and abilities
  • Meet regularly with camp leadership to ensure overall camp success and guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve independently or in collaboration with your team and/or supervisor
  • Eagerly seek opportunities to ensure guests have everything they need
  • Leads by example
  • Take pride in following protocol by meticulously and consistently ensuring operational objectives and ensuring the operational standards that are set by Under Canvas are met
  • Participate in weekly and daily meetings to ensure the Laundry Attendants are well informed about, upcoming events or groups, and any other special events or arrivals
  • Maintain a clean laundry area and follow proper OSHA/HAZCOM procedures
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Manage linen inventory and par levels
  • Follow proper procedures for linen quality control and discarding when needed
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members
  • Lead the laundry team in Under Canvas sustainability efforts
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • +1 years laundry supervisor experience preferred
  • Ability to set clear expectations and lead a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous inventory experience preferred

Additional Information

  • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
  • This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
