Job Description

Danfoss Hydraulics Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, Michigan facility and is a 1st shift position. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will primarily process new order packages designed by the Product Engineering Group. This person will also process design changes (CR's) after completion by the Product Engineering Group.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:




  • Develops/processes new order packages (BOM's/Routings)



  • Process CR's and forwards to affected functions



  • Review and correct SAP routing and BOM errors



  • Coordinates with Master Scheduler to develop lead times



  • Consults with SCM Group to identify raw material availability



  • Assist in checking material andin verifying Part Numbers/revisions in SAP



  • Confer with designers and process technicians



  • Identify issues that impact cell metrics



  • Coordinate with quality function related to process gage requirements



  • Support conference calls and design reviews



  • Helps support plant BCS metrics, including plant OTD and past due, anddepartmental/cell BSC metrics (process package DPPM)



  • This role may include coverage of receiving inspection, Indirect areas, and continuous improvement



Background & Skills

Basic Qualifications:



  • Must be able to read and interpret complex blueprints.
  • Must be competent in the use of calipers, micrometers, verniers, indicators and various other measuring instruments.
  • Must have the equivalent of one (1) or more years of experience in set up and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Responsible for verification adherence to all applicable quality standards.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Ability to create Part Records and Bill of Materials in SAP.
  • Knowledge of M.S. Office business programs (excel, word, access...) preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience/ knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Ability to handle multiple roles within a team/cell format.
  • Minimum of one (1)year of shop floor processes & plant manufacturing strategy experience.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in related field.

  • Candidates must be local to Jackson, Michigan (within 50 miles of the facility); no relocation benefits or assistance provided
  • High School diploma or GED required
