POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Divisional Director of Design reports to the Vice President, Construction Services
  • Located in Mansfield MA
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid



The Director of Design is responsible for managing up to six direct reports within the design department, driving sales growth in design services, and marketing foodservice design solutions and related products to architects, general contractors, and clients. This role includes overseeing the creation of foodservice drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other technical software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design Agreement Structure and Pricing:



  • Review and determine the structure and pricing of Foodservice Design Agreements.


Initial Design Meetings and Sales:



  • Attend Initial Design meetings across all markets and effectively sell design services.
  • Identify customers' needs and preferences through active listening and recommend suitable foodservice equipment.


Business Growth and Proposal Management:



  • Expand the Design Business with Architects and Higher-End customers.
  • Compile Design cost estimate sheets and proposals, discussing the best design proposal sales strategy with the supervisor.


Leadership and Oversight:



  • Act as Lead Designer, overseeing design teams on large or high-profile projects as required.
  • Regularly review drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to drawing standards and quality.


Meetings and Training:



  • Establish and lead regularly scheduled design meetings.
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions.


Innovation and Vendor Management:



  • Foster forward-thinking regarding technology and the use of new or different programs or equipment.
  • Provide designers with regular updates on products and applications, with a focus on innovation.
  • Train and develop the team of Designers, encouraging the use of preferred vendors.


Request for Proposals (RFPs) Review:



  • Review design Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and compile proposal information required for submitting design work bids.

  • Proficiency in designing projects of any size or complexity within the commercial foodservice industry.
  • Skill in tailoring messages and teaching techniques to various audiences.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred., or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • 12 - 15 years of Design Experience.
  • FSCI Certification within the first (3) years of employment strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years' experience designing in the foodservice industry.
  • 7 years+ Foodservice industry experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Extensive knowledge of BIM practices, standards, and techniques.
  • Experience in various market segments of design is necessary.
  • Must have the ability to design projects of any size or complexity.
  • Sales/distribution experience is desired.
  • Team management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
