Project Manager - Existing Installations

Your main responsibilities

Schindler Elevator Corporation currently has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager (Sales & Supervision) for it's Manhattan North based Service & Repair District. This position will be responsible for managing a Major/Key account in the New York Area.

The most important criteria for this role is a proven successful track record of sales. This individual must be motivated to both achieve outstanding results and succeed in a competitive environment. As a Project Manager, the candidate's role will be to manage the P&L of several Major NYC Service Accounts to include all Sales and Supervision.

The successful candidate will be a person of character who embodies Schindler's ideals of honesty and integrity, who maintains an optimistic attitude, is assured of success, and is not afraid to take calculated risks to enhance revenue growth. This role is customer focused, and the selected candidate must be able to connect with people to form outstanding customer relationships in order to advance Schindler Elevator's presence in the marketplace thus ensuring achievement of the organization's financial goals.



  • Follow and accurately manage new service & repair projects to ensure that projects close-out at the required efficiency and profitability levels
  • Review and book projects within one (1) week of award, notifying the Manager if required completion dates cannot be met, and providing action plan and time frame for completion
  • Provide approved submittals to Schindler Engineering and/or local vendors following project booking; coordinate and follow up with factory, and local vendors on the delivery of project material to ensure that all required material is ready prior to project start date
  • Interface with the technicians to track job progress and notify manager if required completion dates cannot be met; provide action plan and time frame for completion
  • Seek change notice opportunities; prepare all change order paperwork and forward to the customer in a timely manner; follow up on change orders, received signed change orders from the customer prior to any related work being completed
  • Ensure timely invoicing and ensure projects are invoiced and paid to 90% before elevator turn over
  • Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures

What you bring

  • BS/AS degree in Engineering or Business with prior technical sales experience; or, Journeyman Technician experience with minimum 5 years in field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in either the elevator industry or in a related building systems industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office & Excel and SAP



The base salary for this role will range between $110,700 - $138,400
