Cherokee Preting seeks an exceptionally qualified Collection Management Officer (CMO) to support USSOCOM. The Collection Management Officer, Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides on-site support to the customer to complement the existing collections menu of Human Intelligence (HUMINT) requirements. The Collection Management Officer coordinates, synchronizes, manages, and contributes to deliverables to ensure optimal synchronization of collection requirements and operations management. The SME level position is expected to provide technical leadership, planning, guidance, and implementation of assigned efforts.

Collection Management Officer Responsibilities Include:



  • Interfaces and collaborates with collectors, reports officers, targeting officers, and analysts
  • Coordinates with requestor and mission partners to determine required/desired parameters
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to Identify unsatisfied and new intelligence requirements
  • Develops and activates HUMINT collection strategies to provide most complete approach to intelligence gaps
  • Researches, develops, drafts, edits, coordinates, disseminates, monitors, and tasks collection requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Collection Management Officer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Current Top Secret clearance and SCI eligible
  • Shall possess a current Counter-Intelligence Scope or Lifestyle polygraph or be willing to take a polygraph exam
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience supporting intelligence operations as a Collection Management Officer, Reports Officer, or an Operations Officer with Defense Clandestine Service or National Clandestine Service Collection Management experience
  • Shall possess an in-depth understanding of advanced HUMINT operational techniques, HUMINT authorities, collection processes, the HUMINT operational cycle, Intelligence Oversight, and the Intelligence Cycle
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Education requirement can be substituted by an additional six years of full-spectrum HUMINT collection experience
  • Must display knowledge and understanding of case management
  • Hands on experience with GCOMS
  • Must possess a valid US passport
  • Must be able to pass all pre-deployment requirements including a medical, dental, psychological, background, credit, and security screens as deemed necessary to be considered deployable
  • Must be able to obtain all required immunizations deemed necessary by the contract
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
