Position Highlights |
This is a full-time position, 1.0 FTE, working as a member of the CALES Business Teams within Division Business Services. Position will support the units' academic, research, and extension missions and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the business team. The Business Manager, Senior will develop and establish procedures for the daily financial operations according to the policies and procedures established by the University and ALVSCE (Agriculture, Life, Veterinary Sciences and Cooperative Extension) Division.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of a unit with a $14M-$39M operating budget. This includes monitoring and delegating transactional workflows, managing incoming requests for purchases and reimbursements, post-award activity, and ensuring fiscal compliance with University policies and guidelines. Assists supervisor with quarterly budget projections through generation of financial reports and analysis of data.
- Manage and control unit expenditures in accordance with budgets and University policy. Coordinates internal and external audits; analyzes and plans the needs of the business team, capital equipment, improvements, supplies, and services; and takes appropriate action within budget limitations; represents the units at meetings and conferences at all levels of the University Organization.
- Supervise, train, and sets expectations for performance and professional development for direct reports. Direct the Finance and Operations Professional II in developing monthly financial reports for unit faculty and staff, work with faculty on grant spending, purchases, and salaries, and liaise between PIs and the Sponsored Project Office.
- Lead the development and communication of financial policies and procedures to unit faculty and staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of UA and UA Foundation policies, including policy interpretation.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with Uaccess Analytics, Financial, and Employee or other institutional enterprise systems found in higher education settings.
- Experience working with Sponsored Projects and research pre and post awards.
