Job Title - Sanitizer (Parts Room Washer)

Division: Operations

Location: Piscataway, NJ

Reports To: Supervisor, Production

Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 10:00PM-6:00AM

What You Will Learn:

Works under the general direction of the Packaging and Processing Supervisors or other supervision as designated by the Employer. The Sanitizer is responsible for ensuring packaging and Processing equipment, parts, nozzles, fillers, pumps, and other equipment as directed, are properly cleaned and/or sanitized according to our Quality and GMP requirements. The Sanitizer will perform cleaning and sanitization duties for multiple departments and assist in the coordination of these activities.

  • Disassembling and assembling of packaging and processing equipment to clean, rinse, and sanitize all product contact equipment according to L'Oreal GMP procedures.
  • Cleaning of all nozzles and screens, including but not limited to in equipment washers and sanitizing equipment.
  • Cleaning of and assembling all parts, including but not limited to transfer and drum pumps.
  • Record keeping, including but not limited to sanitization logs and documentation of performance outputs.
  • Abides by all GMP, hygiene, and safety standards in the operation of equipment and handling of bulk materials and particles.
  • Must have knowledge of proper cleaning utensils and shall clean all things necessary, including but not limited to kettles, buckets, drums, pumps, hoses, small parts, fillers, filling equipment, and the floor, as required by GMP standards.
  • Completes basic troubleshooting of sanitization equipment.
  • Notifies Supervisor of the need for equipment maintenance.
  • Participation in continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assists in operation of the department with particular care toward GMP's sanitization, quality control, safety, housekeeping, production control and L'Oreal operating procedures.
  • Assists other sanitizing employees as needed or required.
  • Must be capable of doing repeated bending, lifting and standing for long hours.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be proficient in the English language (Able to speak and write effectively).
  • Must be able to work off shifts.
  • Performs all other work relative to sanitizing as directed.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be proficient in the English language (able to speak and write effectively).
  • Must be capable of doing repeated bending, lifting and standing for long hours.
  • Must be able to work off shifts, including overtime.
