Get to Know Your Team:

  • Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

Responsibilities

  • Work under limited supervision of nursing and medical staff and with full proficiency to perform duties, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs
  • Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff
  • Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests
  • Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties
  • Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.
  • Assist in providing treatments to patients, perform technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting of extremities, and perform ECGs as ordered
  • Coordinate daily activities for assigned unit to include general clerical and administrative support and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and department qualifications and standards of performance

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or may be senior nursing student with less than one semester to complete in nursing program
  • Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function)
  • Basic Life Support

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in acute or long-term care
  • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy
