- Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Responsibilities
- Under the manager's direction, oversee and coordinate the daily workflow to include assembly, prep & pack, and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation and reusable supplies.
- Supervise the processing, storage, and distribution of processed supplies and instrumentation.
- Oversee department operation & conducts in-service education programs for staff as needed.
- Participate in hiring, orientation, and education with the department educator and manager.
- Supports staff by serving as a mentor or educator when needed.
- Knowledgeable of sterilization and maintenance of medical supplies and instruments.
- Ensures department equipment is functioning or coordinates repairs as needed.
- Responsible for managing the workflow to reduce or eliminate the need for Immediate Use of Steam Sterilization (IUSS).
- Establishes partnerships with Physicians, peers, surgical staff, and subordinates.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Minimum three years or greater as Sterile Processing Tech or Surgical Tech
- CRCST, CSPDT, or CST certification
- CIS or CSIS advanced certification
- High School graduate or GED
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program.
