YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Director, Microbiology in 3600 Eagle Nest Dr, North Building, Crete, IL 60417 USA. Your mission will be to:
The incumbent provides leadership and establishes policies, procedures and goals related to business objectives including but not limited to operational excellence, facilities management, quality systems improvement, and innovation. The incumbent provides direction and guidance to laboratory management to ensure that laboratory safety, technical, quality and operating systems are performing at or above the established goals. The incumbent provides resolution and guidance to clients and corporate functions such as Sales, Customer Care, Product Management and others as appropriate. The incumbent plays a leading role in facilitating or direct resolution with clients on issues related to laboratory services, food safety or quality. Oversees all aspects of a facility, including operations, maintenance, finances, and strategic planning. The Facility Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our facility's operations, including maintenance, security, safety, and day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of facility management best practices, and the ability to effectively manage resources to ensure the smooth functioning of the facility.
Responsible for successful lab operations in all aspects including safety, quality, financial, technical and engaged workforce. Develop and implement strategic plans for facility management in line with company objectives. Responsible for managing PnL. Leadership of the entire Facilities and Microbiology Department Building and creating a high performance team Identifying and implementing efficiency and productivity improvements Ensures adherence to defined protocols and SOPs Ensure safety policies are followed Support Sales and Customer Care to ensure high level of customer satisfaction Working with other functions such as Product Management and Research to add new methods in fast and error free fashion Continually optimize testing operations to meet customer expectations on speed and quality Collaborate with teams as needed on selection, optimization and justification of equipment and all other analytical resources Collaborate with other onsite leaders ensuring alignment and joint execution of all initiatives and policies. Oversee facility maintenance, including regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades to ensure a safe and functional environment for employees and visitors. Manage facility budgets, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and identifying opportunities for cost savings. Supervise facility staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety regulations. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility-related services, such as maintenance, cleaning, and security. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity within the facility. Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related issues and emergencies, and respond promptly to resolve any issues that arise. Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and IT, to support company-wide initiatives and projects. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in facility management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Other related duties as assigned. YOUR PROFILE
Bachelor's degree in lifesciences, facility management, business administration, or a related field. Proven experience in facility management or a similar role, with at least 10 -15 years of experience in a leadership position. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of facility management best practices, including maintenance, safety, security, and compliance. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Demonstrates a keen understanding of basic business operations and the organizational levers (systems, processes, departments, functions) that drive profitable growth; draws from personal experience to quickly evaluate business plans and processes to identify data or recommendations that need further investigation. Initiating and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders and potential partners inside and outside the organization (e.g., customers, peers, cross-functional partners, external vendors, alliance partners) who are willing and able to provide the information, ideas, expertise, and/or influence needed to advance understanding of business issues and achieve business goals This position supervises the Lab Manager(s) and indirect reports. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, terminating, training, promoting, disciplinary actions, assignment of work and evaluating work for accuracy and completeness. This position coordinates with corporate departments to obtain information to provide quality services to the customer.

Physical Demands and Work Environment The incumbent works in the laboratory environment with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur. Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
