Overview

The Central Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations which includes but are not limited to Scheduling and Pre-Registration processes, insurance specialist productivity, and daily workload analysis for prioritization or shifting and analysis of trends in denials. Works in conjunction with manager to hire, promote and discipline. Responsible for evaluations and coaching of assigned personnel. Responsible reporting of various statistics reflecting productivity to ensure a smooth operation of the department. In addition, has overall responsibility for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of revenue cycle training and related quality initiatives, ensuring their alignment with the hospital's revenue cycle objectives. Qualifications EDUCATION Work requires organizational, analytical and communication skills generally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. EXPERIENCE At least one (1) year of related experience is required. Additional years of experience above the minimum requirements may substitute for educational requirements on a one to one basis (i.e. one year of experience equals one year of education). Experience with customer service, call centers, scheduling/registration is preferred. Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding and medical terminology preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must complete CHAA certification within one year of appointment. Ability to conduct root cause analysis. Strong interpersonal, written and oral skills and proven track record in customer service. Willing and able to travel to offsite locations to perform job responsibilities.
