Summary

Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, maintenance, and security of databases in the organization. Assist in the design and development of database strategies, system monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.

Pay Range: $84,557.20 - 114,189.14(Depending on qualifications and experience)

Work Schedule:The weekly work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Some work outside regular business hours may be required.

Training Period (First 6 months): Onsite work required

Post-Training Period (After 6 months): Hybrid schedule 2 days onsite, 3 remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Install and upgrade database server and application tools.

  • Allocate system storage and plan future storage requirements for the database system.

  • Modify the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers.

  • Control and monitor user access to the database.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the database.

  • Plan for backup and recovery of database information.

  • Maintain and administer data flow and integrations between various data stores.

  • Generate and maintain reports and dashboards.

  • Prepare user access reports for yearly audits.

  • Work with rest of the team and support other City applications as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration and Configuration.

  • Strong understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), database encryption, business intelligence and reporting

  • Proficiency in Power BI, SSRS and Crystal Server report writing and analytics.

  • Ability to research and document data flow between various data sources

  • Skill in interpreting technical diagrams and procedures.

  • Ability to research issues and develop efficient solutions.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet customer service deadlines.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in database customizations and integrations.

  • Experience writing reports in SSRS and Crystal

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified SQL Server Database Administrator and Developer
