Huntsman is seeking a Production Technician supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Merrimack, NH. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.

Job Scope

Operates, maintains, and adjusts equipment used in the manufacturing and processing of carbon nanotubes, furnaces and electrochemical equipment in order to produce carbon nanotube yarn, sheets or pulp.

In summary, as the Production Technician, your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Conducts furnace operation to produce carbon nanotube sheet materials or yarn as directed.
  • Conducts electrochemical operation to produce carbon nanotube yarn materials as directed.
  • Conducts processing of pulp sock roll into finished carbon nanotube pulp.
  • Monitors computer screen and visually inspects carbon nanotube sheet materials or yarn to assure that material properties are consistent, adjusting temperature and fuel rates as needed.
  • Visually inspects mechanical and fuel systems to assure readiness for operation, cleaning residue from furnace when necessary.
  • Prepares systems for start-up and for shut-down as necessary.
  • Prepares samples of production for QC analysis.
  • Promptly addresses / communicates production or quality concerns.
  • Upon completion of production run, puts product in appropriate inventory container.
  • Keeps careful records of each production run.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area and equipment, follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Other general responsibilities

  • Adherence to Zero Harm protocols
  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
  • Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of related work experience.

Skills and knowledge

  • Mechanical aptitude - good knowledge of hand tools and machinery
  • Strong attention to detail
  • History of working with chemicals
  • Furnace operation a plus
