Summary:

Goldbelt, Inc. is in search of a Payroll Specialist. Performs tasks to maintain employee records and pay employees. Duties include the checking and auditing of timecards for compliance, reviewing new hire information as it relates to payroll into accounting and payroll systems, posting changes in pay and tax status, processing routine labor and payrolls for the company's weekly, and bi-weekly multi-state payrolls. Removing terminated employees from systems. Download standard payroll reports and run custom reports as required.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure proper on-boarding of new hires and off-boarding of terminations as it relates to payroll
  • Make changes to employees' records as requested, i.e. taxes, direct deposit, etc.
  • Review and audit timekeeping records for compliance
  • Load Deltek T&E and ADP timecard data into Costpoint Accounting labor batch and reconcile
  • Add additional earnings/allowances in Costpoint as needed
  • Load Labor file from Costpoint into ADP to process Payroll and make adjustments as necessary
  • Process immediate pays for terminated employees as necessary
  • Download and store post ADP payroll reports as needed
  • Prepare and post payroll reports such as 401k spreadsheets, net check reports as needed
  • Respond to employees' questions regarding timesheet or pay
  • Process/adjust leave accruals in Costpoint
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, and proficient in excel
  • Demonstrated error-free work
  • Critical thinking skills along with sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to be flexible/adaptable to a changing and unpredictable workflow
  • Ability to embrace change, learn quickly, and thrive in a dynamic corporate environment
  • Skill in working harmoniously within cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Possesses attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and with outside agencies, partners, shareholders, and business associates
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt messages and strategies for diverse audiences
  • Basic understanding of relevant software, tools, and systems used in the corporate environment. This includes a proficiency in standard software applications, including Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 2-3 years of payroll processing experience
  • Ability to pass a employment background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and Time & Expense a plus
  • Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)
  • Previous government contracting experience
  • ADP Time and Attendance experience a plus

The salary range for this position is $52,000 to $70,000 annually.
