Position Highlights

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator of Orientation & New Student Services, this position serves in the Enrollment Programs, Operations and Systems division of Enrollment Management. This position represents the university to new students, family members, campus constituents and the general public. The Coordinator is responsible for the planning and oversight of the Destination Arizona transition program in conjunction with the Senior Coordinator. This position will be responsible for overseeing a large amount of student staff in addition to coordinating the logistics of the Spring and Summer editions of Destination Arizona.

Duties & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the recruitment, selection, hiring and training of all Destination Arizona Leaders. The number of student staff can range between 80-100 students who work to oversee the functional execution of the program. In addition to the former, this position is responsible for ensuring that all student staff goals are met and that the 100% Engagement designation through the Office of Student Engagement & Career Development is maintained and renewed annually. This position should also ensure that experience evaluations are taking place bi-annually and that the student experience is being assessed annually.

This position will be fully responsible for the planning and execution of the Spring edition of Destination Arizona. This includes creating a registration form, developing an event communication plan, reserving locations and planning a one-day program schedule for our Spring event. Additionally, this person should ensure that there is adequate staffing for the program and plan a training for the volunteer staff that will be working.

This position will be responsible for coordinating all pieces of campus partner involvement during Destination Arizona (both Spring & Fall). These programs include, but are not limited to, Conference Sessions, Resource Fairs and Campus Mixers. This position should ensure that all campus partners are scheduled to attended and have detailed organization of which department is hosting and available for which program. They are also responsible for maintaining a cohesive schedule of programs for Destination Arizona campus partner involvement.

This position is responsible for collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing admissions applications according to appropriate policies and practices. They should serve as ROD (recruiter on-duty), Virtual One on One Counselor, as well as obtain the ability to give information sessions as needed. Ultimately, they should effectively and professionally represent the university and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in a variety of venues.

This position is responsible for ensuring all participant accommodations are met. This encompasses pulling guest reports for accommodations and working with the appropriate departments to ensure that all guests requests are met. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring that all communications, presentations, etc. are meeting all accessibility standards for Destination Arizona.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals, ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, knowledge of orientation, transition and retention best practices, skilled in public speaking and presenting for large groups.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and three years of professional or related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
