Essential Functions and Primary Duties



  • Performing bookkeeping services for clients including, but not limited to, recording of transactions, preparing adjusting journal entries, preparation of trial balances, depreciation schedules and monthly, quarterly or annual reconciliations.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual federal and state payroll tax returns and annual Form 1099s
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures.
  • Gathering data for tax return preparation and maintaining client tax files.
  • Preparation of federal and state individual income tax returns.
  • Prepare proposals, engagement letters, invoices and miscellaneous correspondence.
  • Prepare memos to IRS and other state tax divisions, prepare CPA letters and NDAs.
  • Research tax compliance questions for partners.
  • Prepare and finalize client acceptance forms for acceptance committee (proposals, google search etc.) and set up new client codes, set up new client engagement codes.
  • Prepare checks through QuickBooks, maintain vendor list and accounting file.
  • Prepare and e-file state & local sales usage monthly, quarterly and yearly tax returns; prepare and maintain client workpapers and files, correspond with clients quarterly and monthly for information.
  • Prepare PowerPoints as needed for presentations and proposals.


Preferred Qualifications



  • BA/BS.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and designing forms.
  • Ability to prioritize and attention to details are musts.
  • Strong communication skills and follow-through are required for this role.
  • Must be detail orientated, highly organized.
  • Actively looking for ways to help people
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision- making.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint, GoSystems Tax Administration, Thomson Rueters GoFileRoom, Maconomy and CCH Intelliforms.


Minimum Qualifications Required



  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years of accounting work experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally


The hourly target for this job in this market is $31.25 - $36.06. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.

The compensation above is not representative of an employee's total compensation.
