The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Meter Engineer. The Meter Engineer will be able to develop design drawings, implement meter programs, equipment installation, site wiring verification, testing, troubleshooting, and certifying 3-phase revenue meters.

What You'll Do



  • Create or modify existing SLD & 3LD, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment
  • Program, install, test, troubleshoot, and certify revenue and check meters and various electronic data recorders
  • Utilize standard meter programs to accurately read revenue and real-time data
  • Create complex meter programs in non-standard architecture metering scenarios to accurately read revenue and real-time data
  • The ideal candidate will have an understanding of complex system losses
  • Verify the wiring and meter accuracy of commercial and utility-scale revenue metering installations
  • Investigate the causes of commercial and utility-scale metering problems, make repairs, and advise customers on possible solutions
  • Factory Acceptance Testing of communication parameters and revenue data output of CAISO meters
  • Ability to install and wire current transformers and test switches used with transformer-rated metering systems
  • Utilize test kits in the field to perform meter testing
  • Work with project management to specify proper metering equipment for specific project applications
  • Design and assemble metering panels
  • Use standard, discipline-specific software such as ION Setup and AcSELerator Quickset
  • Establish and maintain schedules and provide timely progress reports
  • Frequently works independently in the field while coordinating with the client


What we expect from you You'll Do



  • Demonstrates proficiency and working knowledge of Revenue Metering Systems
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines by setting priorities
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team in the office, meter shop, or in the field with co-workers and independently
  • Takes ownership of the quality of work
  • Responsible for completing tasks and projects in the allotted time
  • Prepares reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Acts with integrity and pursues excellence in work
  • Four-year technical degree with an engineering background
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in revenue metering
  • Successful completion of the Professional Engineering (PE) exam, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, required
  • Able to read and trace AutoCAD engineering design drawings, including SLD, 3LD, logic diagrams, and DC schematics
  • Experience with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialization
  • Must have the ability to work permanently in the US
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving standards
  • Willing to travel a minimum of 25% of the year
  • May participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within an assigned market
  • Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $105,500 - $142,500
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
