We are looking for motivated candidates to apply for a full-time staff research associate (SRA 1 or SRA 2) position in our basic immunology laboratory, based at the Parnassus campus at UCSF in the Department of Laboratory Medicine. Our lab studies how lymphocytes, a subset of immune cells, impact tissue health and disease. We are exploring models in the lung, skin, liver, adipose tissue, and brain meninges, using flow cytometry, advanced imaging, and RNA sequencing approaches to address fundamental immunologic questions.

The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical/research support to the Principal Investigator and other laboratory members. Approximately 35% of the candidate's time will be devoted to lab management and technical support, including assistance with supply ordering/managing and mouse care and genotyping. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related biologic science field and be willing to commit for at least two years. Experience working with mice is required, including mouse colony management, breeding, weaning, and dissection. Experimental background in immunology, including flow cytometry/cell sorting, tissue imaging, and molecular biology (qPCR, Western blots, bacterial cloning) is a must. Candidates must have mastery of essential computing skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Ideal candidates will also be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Flowjo, Prism, Imaris, and related software. Ideal candidates will be motivated, personable, intelligent, and enthusiastic about scientific discovery and our lab's research.
