Senior Auditor

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a SeniorAuditor!

About the Role

The Senior Auditor will primarily participate in the planning and execution of Symetra's annual internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) assessment. This position may also support operational audits, routine sub-programs or sub-areas of an audit or project and be responsible for specific components of department programs and projects, such as data analytics or quality assurance reviews.

What you will do

• Plan, perform, document and review control design and tests of operating effectiveness
• Identify and investigate potential findings and present conclusions
• Coach and mentor less experienced staff
• Work closely with and serve as a liaison between the Audit Services team, Symetra business personnel and external auditors
• Provide general department support and participate in special projects, operational audit or consulting engagements, training and other department or company initiatives. Assignments may include engagement planning or research, test plan development and execution, process improvement initiatives, procedures updates, internal reporting and data analytics, or various other department supporting processes.

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,300 - $125,600 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:

• High School Diploma, required
• 4-year college degree in accounting, finance, information systems or related field preferred.
• 3 years prior public accounting, internal auditing or other related industry experience.
• ICFR (Sarbanes-Oxley or Model Audit Rule) knowledge and experience.
• CIA, CPA, CISA, CFE or other relevant certification or attainment of certification within 2 years
• Insurance/financial services industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools (PowerBI, SQL, Python, etc.) preferred.
