BENEFITS

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Sr Manager of Internal Communications, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing the culture at BECU. As the Internal Communications lead for the People team (Human Resources) you will craft and implement dynamic communication strategies. By providing expert communication counsel to leaders at all levels, including the Executive Management Team, you'll help foster a unified and engaged workforce. Your leadership will not only guide your team's growth but will also ensure that BECU's internal communication channels are impactful, fostering a deeper connection between our employees and the organization's mission.

***This role is eligible for remote work in Washington state, with the ideal candidate available for onsite business needs at our Tukwila headquarters when necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead and Develop Your Team: Coach, mentor, and train your direct reports to enhance their performance and support their career development. Regularly conduct evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

• Strategize for Engagement: Develop and implement strategic Internal Communications plans for the People team to boost employee engagement, increase understanding of benefits and resources.

• Partner with Leaders: Build strong relationships with credit union leaders, including the Executive Management Team, offering strategic communication recommendations that align with BECU's goals.

• Manage Communication Plans: Contribute to the Internal Communications editorial plan and schedule, ensuring timely and strategic communication of key initiatives, projects, and programs to all BECU employees.

• Coordinate with External Communications: Work in tandem with the External Communications team to ensure consistency and alignment in messaging where appropriate.

• Measure and Optimize: Lead the assessment and analysis of internal communications channels and programs, optimizing strategies to enhance effectiveness and reach.

• Enhance Communication Channels: Continuously manage and improve internal communications methods, ensuring they effectively support BECU's strategic objectives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Additional Contributions: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Internal Communications team and BECU.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or equivalent work or educational experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications with experience supporting Human Resources, focusing on strategy development and implementation, and managing internal communications programs.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in people leadership.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in a corporate, retail environment, creative firm, or financial institution.

• Proven success in leading internal communications programs, building relationships with leaders, and driving a unified culture and employee engagement.

• Excellent project management, time management, presentation, leadership, and negotiation skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and provide customer service.

• Ability to effectively engage with individuals across all levels of the credit union.

• Experience leading large employee events (town halls, all team meetings, ask me anything, open mics, etc.)

• Demonstrated initiative with a results-oriented approach and strong drive.

• Experience leading successful internal communications programs in a fast-paced environment.

• A creative mindset with the ability to innovate and adapt communication strategies to meet evolving organizational needs.
