Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking an EO/IR Systems Engineer with expertise in TADS/PNVS systems to support critical modernization and development efforts. This role will focus on advancing Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems and contributing to the sustainment and enhancement of Apache EO/IR systems for domestic and international customers.

The EO/IR Systems Engineer will provide technical oversight, develop requirements, analyze contractor proposals, and support U.S. Government (USG) and vendor flight test programs. This position plays a critical role in shaping the modernization roadmap and ensuring operational effectiveness of EO/IR systems.

Key Responsibilities




  • Apply expertise in EO/IR system theory and the TADS/PNVS system.
  • Review and evaluate contract deliverables (CDRLs) such as test reports, test plans, and analyses.
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for engineering and development tasks.
  • Analyze contractor proposals, support negotiation processes, and provide leadership insights.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings on key issues, modernization efforts, and testing updates.
  • Coordinate technical discussions with SRD, contractors, AFTD, and PM to address test requirements.
  • Develop estimates for flight test programs and provide detailed recommendations to leadership.
  • Support the Program Manager (PM) and International Apache teams in system sustainment and enhancement.
  • Collaborate with end users to define future system requirements, evaluate competing systems, and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Oversee EO/IR systems' technical performance, including SBIR, congressional plus-up, and IRAD efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's (Master's preferred) Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering is preferredor equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in EO/IR systems, including technical and operational understanding of TADS/PNVS.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, understand, and provide disposition for technical documents.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing modernization roadmaps and supporting leadership decision-making.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
