Assistant Operations Manager

Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Job type: Full time

Schedule: 4:00am start time, Monday-Friday

Salary: $55,000 - $71,000

*Compensation for this position includes base salary and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role.

What You'll Do

Will assist in managing all location specific operations functions in support of Viking Electric standardized operations processes with direct managerial oversight of Drivers, Inventory Specialist, and Receiving associates. Assist the Operations Manager in oversight of safety, workforce, receiving, shipping, project material management, facility, delivery, counter sales, inventory, and asset management. Responsible for providing positive customer experience and accurate order fulfillment within the annual established budget constraints. Responsible for assisting in maintaining operational key performance indicators (KPI's) within established quality metrics.

You will...



  • Responsible for assisting in workforce management including recruitment, development, retention, and performance management of assigned operations associates.
  • Assist in daily management of location operations including productivity, workflow, staffing, inventory, fleet, and customer service levels.
  • Provide a safe working environment for all associates through compliance, education, and reinforcement of Viking Electric policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Corporate Operations, to provide consistent, responsive, innovative, and a profitable customer service model in alignment with corporate operations standards.
  • Involvement in consistently improving quality standards in service, business process, inventory control, and loss control.
  • Assist in oversight of building, grounds, Viking Electric assets, facility services, operational services, and fleet in collaboration with corporate resources.
  • Monthly oversight of annual operating expense budget and operational KPI's.


What You Bring

Requirements:



  • 2 years' experience in operations, logistics, or distribution environment. Supervisory and sales/counter experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of progressive distribution and warehousing processes, methods and procedures and experience/knowledge of warehouse equipment and machines.
  • Knowledge of VE's systems, processes, products, and market knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn and enforce DOT rules and regulations.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
