The Assistant Teaching Professor is a full-time, tenure-track position, with primary responsibilities in teaching/mentoring and teaching-related activities, such as working with other faculty in the department to lead teaching-focused initiatives or activities. The position will entail requirements for service and professional and/or scholarly achievement and activity (which may include research/creative activity related to instruction and pedagogy or to the underlying discipline).

This faculty position will play a leadership role in teaching and pedagogy in the departments and their disciplines, supporting the professional and programmatic activities of the Asian American Studies Department. The teaching load is a 7-course equivalent across 3 quarters, in interdisciplinary Asian American studies theory and research methods with a range of possible specializations. This teaching load will include lower-division lectures (which may count as 2 courses depending upon enrollment).

The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching, service, and research as appropriate to the position.
