GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing & Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing unified and comprehensive communications strategies and innovative marketing campaigns across the business unit and division. They will utilize marketing expertise and strategic communication to drive event planning and execution, content creation (graphics, video, written, etc.), and overall public relations for the division.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  1. Communications & Content Development




    • Serve as the primary liaison between corporate communications and divisional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment.
    • Maintain and update the division's communications calendar, including drafting and managing content for the division's social media calendar.
    • Lead the development of divisional press releases and oversee the approval process across departments.
    • Collaborate with corporate and divisional marketing teams to develop and implement communication strategies aligned with business goals.




  1. Event & Trade Show Management




    • Lead event and trade show planning and logistics, including booth design, graphic production, and on-site representation for the division.
    • Oversee the divisionis trade show exhibition list, manage event coordination with corporate and other divisions.
    • Work with business leads to plan and execute event messaging, coordinating with business units to ensure a cohesive brand presence.




  1. Graphic Design & Multimedia




    • Support graphic design and video creation/editing needs for various marketing projects, including website content, ads, and brochures.
    • Create and manage promotional materials (e.g., branded apparel, trade show handouts) to support corporate, business development, and program initiatives.




  1. Social Media & Media Relations




    • Coordinate and execute social media content for Kratos Unmanned Systems and divisional channels to build and maintain a strong online presence.
    • Capture and archive photo and video content at key events, supporting future marketing, social media, and press activities.




  1. Budget & Asset Management




    • Manage budgets related to trade shows, promotional materials, shipping, and advertising to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
    • Maintain and manage business development assets, including models, banners, and event handouts.




  1. Collaboration & Additional Responsibilities




    • Participate in weekly communications and marketing calls with corporate and other division points of contact.
    • Plan and coordinate video/photo capture for events and activities, ensuring content is accessible for presentations, social media, and press releases.
    • Fulfill ad-hoc tasks as requested by senior leadership and provide support on other communications projects as needed.i

Required Experience:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



  • Bacheloris degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business or a related field.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, or event coordination, preferably within the defense or technology industry.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:



  • Creative individual with ability to provide innovative guidance to current and future marketing campaigns and branding exercises.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate, compelling content.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media management and content creation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and manage external vendor relationships.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for trade shows and other events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Office and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with Kratos General Safety Training guidelines.
  • May work extended hours or weekends.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • 10-40% - Some international travel required.
