Job Description General Summary: Vertex is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation to create transformative medicines for people with serious diseases. Vertex is seeking a talented leader to join the North America New Product Planning team to work on the APOL1-mediated kidney disease pipeline program, a disease impacting minority communities with significant levels of underdiagnosis. The Associate Director (Market Development) will focus on pre-launch market development: disease awareness and genotyping initiatives for both patients and HCPs. This role will initially report to Director North America New Product Planning for AMKD, and will transition to a US Marketing team when US Business Unit is established closer to launch. The successful candidate will have a track record of impact in commercial roles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. APOL1-mediated kidney disease is serious, rapidly progressive, genetic kidney disease that occur in people of African ancestry.
