About the Role:

We are seeking a Corporate Giving Associate to join our Communications and Corporate Responsibility team to support the Company's charitable giving programs. In this role, the Corporate Giving Associate will focus on executing the company's charitable giving programs in support of the overall economic and social health of our region - corporate grants, community impact grants, annual employee giving campaign and volunteerism. The Corporate Giving Associate will be focused on executing job responsibilities as detailed below through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This role reports to the Manager of ESG and Corporate Giving.

Location: Hybrid (see below), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the point person for Duquesne Light's corporate giving and volunteerism programs, including tracking and processing charitable giving grants, coordinating employee volunteerism and facilitating our employee giving campaign
  • Advance corporate giving processes and reporting efforts to enhance the ability to glean insights and demonstrate the impact of corporate giving efforts through key metrics in line with the company's strategy and priorities
  • Partner with Communications to develop and execute internal and external communications that assist in driving program goals
  • Ensure proper data governance, record retention and documentation in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support the company's internal Charitable Giving Committee, consisting of enterprise-wide stakeholders, to drive value additive decision making and partnerships for corporate giving grant programs; tasks to include meeting content development, capturing meeting minutes and assisting in meeting facilitation
  • Serve as key administrator for current corporate giving technology platform, CyberGrants/Bonterra, and evaluate additional technology resources, as required
  • Partner with other internal business units, such as Finance and Tax on internal management of corporate giving budget and state mandated reporting, for example
  • Engage with external partners and regional resources to build positive, strategic relationships and stay informed on key corporate giving issues and topics relevant to advancing our mission and the region's energy transition
  • Facilitate company leadership participation on key nonprofit boards, community committees, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education/Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience required


  • Two (2+) or more years of work experience required

    • Experience with corporate responsibility, philanthropy, or employee engagement
    • Familiarity with corporate giving/employee engagement platforms or online tools





Skills:



  • Advanced proficiency required with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and data analysis/management
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, work well individually and in teams, with demonstrated ability to forge strong working relationships with peers as well as internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex information and build consensus

Scope:

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Typically, accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work is typically of moderate complexity, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed.

Decision Impact:

Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past experience. Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making in straightforward situations based on precedents.

Storm Roles:

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manage for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service, or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.

Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Data Governance:

Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities, and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
