About the Role:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager - Transportation, the Quality & Transportation Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our supply chain and maintaining the highest standards of product quality. The Q&T Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating logistics activities, managing inventory, and overseeing quality control processes.

This role will work to facilitate the flow of coal and monitor quality specifications across the supply chain while working with the sales and marketing team to meet department objectives, and ensure our customers have a reliable supply chain to meet their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates directly with all transportation partners (rail, truck and barge) to ensure adherence to schedule and to address any issues that may arise
  • Data entry and tracking of the movement of coal by rail, barge, and truck.
  • Monitor the performance of our supply chain and track the respective KPI's
  • Maintain communications between Sales, Marketing & Transportation and the Processing Plants.
  • Monitoring coal quality from processing plant, monitoring coal quality into the rail car or barge, and monitoring coal quality into the vessel.
  • Oversight of third-party labs by ensuring that Sales & Marketing standards along with ASTM standards are being met.
  • Reporting - Collaborate with internal and external auditors monthly/quarterly/annually to ensure the Transportation department complies with key internal controls as dictated by Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Provide documentation of Quality & Logistics processes and procedures to internal and external auditors on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department head, e.g., special projects and various reporting tasks

Who You are:

  • Minimum +5 years experience in managing quality and supply chain processes
  • Associate degree in business, industrial distribution or a related field;
  • Excellent communication skills to enhance interaction with international customers as well as internal customers / Railroad / Barge / terminal / lab / sales / accounting / accounts payable personnel.
  • Advanced skills in using the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Proactive and able to handle several priorities at the same time
  • Personal and professional characteristics that reflect Warrior Met's Core Values.
  • This role must be able to effectively work on several different projects at one time.
  • Structured and organized.

Environment and Safety:

  • Improve on safety standards by holding safety meetings, conducting safety interactions, and taking corrective action where required.
  • Ensure adherence to State, Federal and Company workplace policies and standard work procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.
  • Maintain a high level of Safety performance through effective communication, monitoring, and revision of standard work procedures.
  • Identify and report safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled safety meetings and training.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses with a view toward positive action, through training, equipment set-up or equipment repair and report on findings and conclusions.
  • Maintain environmental awareness amongst the workforce by holding meetings and involving the environmental department in related subjects.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental policy, work standards, management plans and regulatory obligations and requirements.
  • Integrate environmental policies, programs, and practices into all activities of the organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, and/or stoop for office equipment or materials.
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.
  • Must be able to do repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have quick reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination.
  • Must be able to lift office materials up to 25lbs.
  • Must be able to wear the required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA.
