Job Description: Summary: Barr Engineering Co. is looking to hire a full-time Cultural Resources Specialist to support our growing cultural resource management practice in the Four Corners, Intermountain West, and Midwest regions of the United States. The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of projects to address cultural resources, tribal resources, and regulatory issues. A secondary goal for this role is to help strengthen the professional relationships between Barr and Native American communities (First Nations, tribes, or pueblos) and advocate for their natural resource projects across the United States and Canada. This person will be a point of contact with Native American communities regarding their interests and perspectives on Barr projects and may serve as a liaison between Native American groups and project teams and/or clients as needed. While this person would be based in the Intermountain West, they would also support Barr CRM projects in the Four Corners, Great Plains, and Midwest. Job Duties: We expect this role will consist of a combination of field director duties and Native American advocacy work. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Albuquerque or Farmington, New Mexico, or Durango, Colorado, offices. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000-90,000/year. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction and industrial sites, and to enter and work in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, high temperature and pressure process equipment, and other conditions typical of large industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. Some work locations may also feature rough terrain, steep slopes, and dense vegetation.
