Responsibilities:
- As a Database Administrator, you will bring your technology expertise, design, and administration skills to create unique state-of-the-art database systems.
- You have a passion for technology tempered by a level-headed approach to problem solving and broad experience in diverse technologies.
- You will bring a hunger for problem solving and desire to understand and play with newer technologies and business ideas.
- Designing, configure and monitor very large-scale database system including Relational databases, NoSQL and in memory databases.
- Working in tandem with database administrators and data engineers across the organization.
Experience Requirements:
- 10 + years of overall DBA experience.
- 5+ years MongoDB DBA experience.
- Experience in Cockroach is preferable.
- Strong knowledge and experience in installing, configuring, and upgrading MongoDB databases, as well as general administration.
- Experience in installing, configuring, and upgrading Ops manager.
- Schema design, performance tuning, query optimization, backup solutions (Physical and Logical) Replica set (elections, read/write concerns, arbiters) etc.
- Managing MongoDB Oplog and journals.
- Design indexing strategies and Sharding (choosing a good shard key, balancer, moving chunks, zoning shard with pre-split chunks, etc.).
- Debugging skills and the ability to troubleshoot methodically, identifying, and applying fixes for known errors, and when necessary, capacity to think outside of the box to resolve complex issues.
- Scripting/automation tooling (bash/python and Ansible) experience is a must.
- Experienced in CI/CD, DevOps using tools like Udeploy, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Git.
- Must have worked on trending cloud solutions (AWS/Azure /GCP) - AWS preferred.
- Experience in AWS EC2, CFT, Route53, RDS.
- Experience in Datadog and integration with ServiceNow
- Cross-functional training in NoSQL, Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps methodologies are encouraged.
- Knowledge in working of REST APIs, ability to read documentation and make calls to read or write data using API is a plus.
- Experience in containerization technologies such as ECS and Docker
- 5 to 10 years of DBA experience
- AWS Solutions Architect certification
- B.E. or MCA
- Experience or subject knowledge in Redis and Elasticsearch.
- Clear understanding of query planning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both oral and written English
- Adept at version control tools GIT Stash, build tools like Maven.
- Experience in working with different kinds of hosted infrastructure.
- Ability to learn new concepts and technologies in strict timelines
- Must be adaptable in a changing environment and be effective in many different business settings.
- Experience with cloud data warehousing and data lake solutions is a plus
