Coterra is hiring a Lead Lease and Contracts Analyst. JOB DESCRIPTION As a Lead Lease & Contracts Analyst you will review, analyze, verify, and set up oil and gas leases and contracts into P2 Land as it relates to land and mineral ownership and contractual rights. This position reports to the Leases and Contracts Manager and is located on site, at our Houston, Texas headquarters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and coordination of recommendations made by business units in E-calendar as related to obligations, rentals, expirations, and minimum royalty payments and take appropriate actions. Review and track weekly and monthly shut-in reports, and take appropriate actions in Land application, if necessary. Initiate payments and invoices for rentals, shut-ins, and minimum royalties as they become due. Review of semi-annual reports, including but not limited to, end of month accounting, escheated funds, and prospect acreage reports to ensure accuracy. Interpret, set up, maintain and tract out complex leases, contracts and company owned lands within P2 Land to include accurate identification of provisions, obligations and tying related documents. Review deeds, assignments, and related agreements to process complex ownership changes in P2 related to lease maintenance and acquisitions and divestitures. Review and update the status of leases and contracts due to well completions, well plugging, shut-ins or other well status changes for operated properties and take appropriate actions, if necessary. Proficient in the calculation of working interests, net revenue, royalty, and related interests. Work with the Business Units on the research and preparation of Oil and Gas Lease Releases. Collaborate with Division Order Analysts to ensure that lease records and division order records reflect most updated title data
Job requirements
Skills and Experience
Experienced with a land management software system, preferably Tobin Land System or P2 Land. Knowledgeable with regards to complex lease and title issues, preferably in the Permian Basin, Anadarko Basin, Marcellus Shale and State and Federal Agencies. Established proficiency with Microsoft Office required, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Dynamics. Ability to adapt and work within various peripheral and analytical software applications, such as Spotfire, Hyland OnBase and Microsoft Dynamics.
