National Grid is hiring a Portfolio Manager.This position offers remote flexibility, with the requirement that candidates reside in one of the following states: New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Vermont (VT), Rhode Island (RI), Maine (ME), or New Hampshire (NH).

Job Purpose

National Grid is seeking a Portfolio Manager to support the Customer IT organization and deliver on our Customer business strategy. This strategy is focused on three key areas:
* improving customer experience
* reducing the cost to serve our customers
* enabling our customers to adopt clean energy solutions

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for IT Customer portfolio finances and delivery reporting, working with business partners to manage demand intake, prioritization, financials and performance reporting. Additionally, this is a key role in Application Lifecycle management, regulatory submissions and tracking, and transformation efforts related to lean portfolio management and digitizing reporting.

Key Accountabilities

* Lead investment planning, both annual and as needed throughout the year, coordinating with multiple IT teams and ensuring alignment with business strategy and commitments
* Compile and submit monthly budget forecasts received from program and project managers, making portfolio-level adjustments as needed and ensuring key questions around areas such as variances and change requests are answered
* Coordinate IT demand management, collaborating with business partners to ensure relative priority is clear and guiding force ranking decision against capacity constraints
* Manage regulatory requirements and reporting including rate case development, commitment tracking and variance reporting
* Facilitate regular program/project review meetings, organizing materials to highlight benefits realization, milestones, and blockers
* Track go-lives and initiative value to support Customer CIO in reporting and stakeholder management
* Contribute to Customer business review monthly and strategic portfolio review meetings by providing IT highlights
* Support the stand up of new initiatives, guiding program/project managers on the development of high-quality project mandates, business cases, investment proposals, post investment appraisal and other deliverables as required
* Help track and manage Customer IT commercials, including the facilitation of negotiations and/or contractual restructuring in support of ongoing portfolio changes
* Support preparation and participation on project boards, steering and governance groups as needed

Qualifications

* 8+ years relevant professional experience
* Experience with IT investment and program planning
* Robust understanding of the cost and value drivers of IT and the impact on core business functions
* Ability to manage complex and varied interpersonal relationships toward desired outcomes
* Strong customer and stakeholder management
* Attention to detail; ability to organize time and information to successfully manage competing priorities
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present detailed data while highlighting key points to facilitate effective portfolio management and decision making
* Strong commitment to delivering results

Salary

New England:$142k - $167k a year

Downstate NY:$152k - $179k a year

Upstate NY:$127k - $149k a year
