The Sr. Continuous Improvement Associate is a position within the Continuous Improvement Team and reports through the Corporate Strategy group at DLC. Guided by the DLC Executive Team, the Continuous Improvement Team identifies compelling ideas within the organization that can be used to improve efficiencies, enhance customer satisfaction, find cost savings and drive operational value within DLC.

The Sr. Continuous Improvement Associate will be responsible for assisting with data collection and analysis, financial cost saving evaluations, and strategic communication development. This high-visibility role will provide ongoing support across the business to achieve successful implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives and the evolution of becoming a Continuous Improvement Culture. One of this position's main duties will be to work with leaders from across the Enterprise to ensure that the financial results of all initiatives follow the methodology and framework as designed by the Continuous Improvement Office.

Location: Hybrid (see below), downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities:



  • Data Analysis

    • Supports execution of metric improvement solutions by providing operational leaders with necessary data and insights to take targeted actions
    • Analyze, interprets, and summarizes pertinent data components, and monitors performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify process improvement opportunities
    • With a solution-oriented approach, collaborate with team members and leaders to critically think and problem solve to address business challenges
    • Participates in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives with a focus on use of data for improved efficiency, productivity, and assessment of program performance
    • Identify Continuous Improvement initiatives, build proposals with strong data validations and develop action plans for implementing tested solutions
    • Create and manage metrics surrounding areas performance, continuous improvement initiatives and project execution/ROI calculations.




  • Financial Reporting

    • Assist in developing financial models and analysis to support initiative financial and performance variance analysis versus targets and budget
    • Coordinate and lead monthly actuals reporting process for all workstreams
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Finance teams ensuring accurate, timely, and effective Affordability financials that align with the Continuous Improvement methodology
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of finance training documentation, ensuring consistency in calculations and reporting
    • Facilitate and lead touch points with Finance Leads to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting




  • Strategic Communications

    • Apply various communication strategies, and develop internal communications, presentations, and deliverables across the organization to drive awareness, create excitement and gain adoption of Continuous Improvement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate performance data and strategic insights into visual concepts.
    • Identify approach and create content, that can deliver compelling messaging and positioning while effectively communicating the value proposition to the target audience.




  • Assist and Support Improvement Initiatives

    • Assist and partner with the business stakeholders, to support the planning and successful execution of improvement initiatives.
    • Work across the organization to ensure KPI's and performance impacts are captured correctly and appropriately accounted for.
    • Coordinate with the Continuous Improvement Office Specialists on initiatives as appropriate to ensure progression of initiatives
    • Participate in cross workstream meetings and challenge ideas when appropriate
    • Assist with the reviewing initiatives and help coordinate with Workstream Leads to confirm/evaluate assumptions and financial impacts
    • Participate as an active team member in ideation and problem-solving sessions across the business





Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, or relevant discipline required.
  • Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience required.

    • Experience with developing financial models and summarizing/analyzing data sets to clearly communicate results and identify trends required
    • ., Significant experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel and data modeling,
    • Experience with presentation design, Adobe, Canva, Digital Marketing and User Experience design.





Skills and Abilities Utilized in this Role Include:



  • Knowledge of the utility industry (or a specific sub-sector), including an understanding of critical operations, customer interactions, and other external and internal stakeholder expectations and needs.
  • Experienced in effectively leading improvement initiatives, utilizing DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma and BPM methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze opportunities and critically evaluate costs and benefits.
  • Ability to effectively communicate results and partner across the organization to establish relationships that drive initiatives and company value forward.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial challenges, results, and information cross-organizational stakeholders.
  • Ability to take complex topics and/or imperatives, and successfully translate technical concepts into appropriate mediums for attended audience.
  • Experience with developing financial models and summarizing/analyzing data sets to clearly communicate results and identify trends.
