Responsible for the daily pickup and delivery of assigned employees between their pickup locations and job site or other destination according to assigned schedule and designated routes.

  • Perform daily inspection of vehicle to include, but not limited to ensuring that the tires are in good condition, oil and water are at appropriate levels, the exterior of the van has not been damaged, etc.; and provide written documentation to supervisor of needed service or repairs. Maintain interior and exterior of vehicle cleanliness daily or as needed.
  • Responsible for the daily pickup and delivery of Food Service Workers in a safe and timely manner to job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule and designated routes.
  • Maintain logbook, documenting all pickups and deliveries accurately and completely. Complete mileage and time logs.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisor and report any problems to supervisor immediately. Operate cell phone to communicate with supervisor, sites, parents, or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
  • Report any suggested change in routes that will lead to more efficient transportation of employees.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure that employees/route listing, directions and maps are in the van.
  • Ensure that the proper numbers of flares, safety triangles, first aid kits, jacks, flashlights, etc., are in the vehicle and in proper working order.
  • Read and adhere to all memos and directives of the supervisor.
  • Complete accurate incident, accident, and seizure reports as needed.
  • Participate in all other training required by funding sources and Corporation.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • Three years' experience and knowledge of road systems in the El Paso County area preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR) required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, and diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
